"Off Label Use"

When a medication, treatment or product is used for any condition or indication in the management of a problem that is other than the officially approved can be considered as off label use.

It is also called unapproved use of an approved product, is when your healthcare provider uses an FDA-approved medical product for a use that has not been studied yet.
