Adamkiewicz's Reaction for Proteids. To a mixture of 1 volume concentrated sulfuric ADAMS' DISEASE 27 ADENOCARCINOMA acid and 2 volumes glacial acetic acid add the proteid. At the ordinary temperature a reddish-violet color is obtained slowly, but more quickly on heating. The liquid has also a feeble fluorescence, and gives an ab- sorption band between the lines B and F in the solar spectrum.
