Aerococcus urinae - a species of gram positive, cocci shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum firmicutes. This bacteria is nonmotile, catalase negative, alpha hemolytic, urease negative and produces acid from d mannitol, d sorbitol and sucrose. A. Urinae is found in the urinary tract and is associated with urinary tract infections, sepsis, and endocarditis.
