Age

Age (/eɪdʒ/; from the Latin aetas, meaning "lifetime") is a term used in various contexts, generally referring to the length of time that an organism, object, or concept has existed. In the context of biology, it refers to the period from birth to the present time for a living thing, including humans. In other contexts, it can refer to the period that an object has existed or the period that a concept, institution, or other entity has been in existence.

Etymology

The word "age" comes from the Old French aage, which itself is derived from the Latin word aetas. The Latin word is connected to aevum, meaning "lifetime" or "eternity", and aeon, an indefinite but long period of time.
