Animal Health (pronunciation: /ˈænɪməl hɛlθ/) is a branch of veterinary medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and injuries in animals. The term is most commonly used in relation to livestock, domestic pets, and wildlife.

Etymology

The term "animal health" is derived from the Latin word "animalis" meaning "having breath" and the Old English word "hǣlth" meaning "wholeness, a being whole, sound or well."
