Athena (pronunciation: /əˈθiːnə/; Ancient Greek: Αθηνά) is the ancient Greek goddess associated with wisdom, handicraft, and warfare.

Etymology

The name Athena is of uncertain etymology. One theory suggests that it may be derived from the Linear B word athana, which means 'goddess'. Another theory proposes that it may be related to the name of the city of Athens, which was named after her.
