Autologous Expanded Mesenchymal Stem Cells OTI-010 - (pronounced) (aw-TAH-luh-gus. . . meh-ZEN-kih-mul. . . ) product made from special stem cells taken from a patient's bone marrow and grown in the laboratory. After a patient's bone marrow has been destroyed by treatment with total body radiation or chemotherapy, these cells are reinjected into the patient to help the bone marrow rebuild. Autologous Expanded Mesenchymal Stem Cells OTI-010 has been studied for the prevention of graft-versus-host disease during stem cell transplantation in patients receiving cancer treatment.
