Bart Simpson

Bart Simpson (/bɑːrt ˈsɪmpsən/), is a fictional character in the American animated television series, The Simpsons. He is the mischievous, rebellious, misunderstood, and "potentially dangerous" eldest child of Homer Simpson and Marge Simpson.

Etymology

The name "Bart" is an anagram of the word "brat". Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons, has stated that he named the character after his own brother, but the rebellious nature was inspired by characters from other shows.
