Boiling

Boiling (/ˈbɔɪlɪŋ/) is a phase transition from the liquid phase to the gas phase that occurs at or above the boiling point of a liquid. The boiling point of a liquid varies depending upon the surrounding environmental pressure.

Etymology

The term "boiling" comes from the Old English bylcan, meaning "to bubble up".
