Calcium chloride (pronounced as KAL-see-um KLOR-ide) is a type of salt that is commonly used in medical and scientific applications.

The term "calcium" comes from the Latin word calx, which means "lime". "Chloride" is derived from "chlorine", a term that comes from the Greek word chloros, meaning "greenish yellow".

Medical Uses
