Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire (pronounced /ˈkeɪmbrɪdʒʃər/ or /ˈkeɪmbrɪdʒʃɪər/) is a county in the East of England, bordering Lincolnshire to the north, Norfolk to the north-east, Suffolk to the east, Essex and Hertfordshire to the south, and Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire to the west.

Etymology

The name Cambridgeshire is derived from the county town of Cambridge, which is believed to be named after the River Cam. The term "Cambridge" itself is a combination of the Middle English "Cambrigge" (River Cam) and Old English "Grantebrycge" (Granta Bridge).
