Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands (/ˈkeɪmən/; KAY-mən) are a British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean Sea. The territory comprises the three islands of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman, located south of Cuba and northwest of Jamaica.

Etymology

The Cayman Islands were named after the term 'caiman,' which is a neo-Taino word for the alligator, a species that is native to the islands.

Medical Facilities

The Cayman Islands have a well-developed healthcare system with several medical facilities. The largest of these is the Cayman Islands Hospital, located in George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands. Other notable facilities include the Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital and the Health City Cayman Islands, a tertiary care hospital located in East End, Grand Cayman.

Health Regulations

The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) is the primary healthcare provider in the Cayman Islands. It provides a comprehensive range of health services in various locations throughout the islands. The HSA operates under the Ministry of Health and is governed by the Health Services Authority Law.
