Cefditoren (pronounced: sef-dit-oh-ren) is a cephalosporin antibiotic used in the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is marketed under the trade name Spectracef by Cornerstone Therapeutics.

Etymology

The name "Cefditoren" is derived from the core chemical structure of the drug, which is a part of the cephalosporin class of antibiotics. The prefix "Cef-" is common to all drugs in this class, while "-ditoren" is unique to this particular drug.

Usage
