Cherry Boone (pronunciation: /ˈtʃɛri ˈbuːn/) is an American author and singer, best known as the daughter of popular American singer Pat Boone and for her work in the field of eating disorders.

Etymology

The name "Cherry" is of English origin and is often given due to the red fruit bearing the same name. The surname "Boone" is of English origin and means "good", derived from the Old French "bon".

Biography

Cherry Boone was born on July 7, 1954, in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is the second daughter of singer Pat Boone and Shirley Boone. Her sisters are singer Debby Boone, actress Lindy Boone, and singer Laury Boone.

Cherry Boone is known for her work in the field of eating disorders. She herself suffered from anorexia nervosa during her teenage years and early adulthood. She has written a book about her experiences with the disorder, titled "Starving for Attention".
