(koV -chis-in) [colchicum], C 22 H 25 NO e , colchicina (U. S. P.). An alkaloid of colchi- cum; it is a pale, brownish-yellow, exceed- ingly bitter powder, freely soluble in water. It is a very active poison. Its dose is y$ gr. (0.0032 Gm.) hypodermatically. C. Sali- cylate. See Colchisal.
