Short definition | cold tumor - (pronounced) (cold TOO-mer) Describes a tumor that is unlikely to elicit a strong immune response. Cold tumors are usually surrounded by cells that are able to suppress the immune response and stop T cells (a type of immune cell) from attacking and killing the tumor cells. Cold tumors usually do not respond to immunotherapy. Most cancers of the breast, ovaries, prostate, pancreas and brain (glioblastoma) are classified as common cold tumors |
