Crystals (/ˈkrɪstəlz/) are a solid material whose constituents, such as atoms, molecules or ions, are arranged in a highly ordered, repeating pattern extending in all three spatial dimensions. The study of crystals and their structure is a field in mineralogy.
Etymology
The word "crystal" is derived from the Ancient Greek word "krustallos" (κρύσταλλος), meaning both "ice" and "rock crystal".

Medical Uses
