Damaged (/ˈdæmɪdʒd/), from the Middle English damage, derived from Old French domage, from Latin damnum, meaning "loss or harm", is a term used in medicine to describe the state of an organ, tissue, or cell that has been adversely affected by injury, disease, or other harmful agents.
