Effort

Effort (/ˈɛfərt/), from the Old French esforz meaning "force, impetuosity, strength, power", is a term used in various fields of medicine to describe the exertion of physical or mental power.

Definition

In a medical context, effort often refers to the amount of energy or work that a person has to put into a specific task. This can be physical, such as the effort required to lift a heavy object, or mental, such as the effort required to solve a complex problem. The term is often used in relation to conditions that affect a person's ability to exert effort, such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia.
