Entrepreneur (/ˌɒntrəprəˈnɜːr, -ˈnjʊər/; from French entreprendre, "to undertake") is an individual who creates a new business, bearing most of the risks and enjoying most of the rewards. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as an innovator, a source of new ideas, goods, services, and business/or procedures.

Etymology

The term "entrepreneur" comes from the French word entreprendre, which means "to undertake". This refers to those who "undertake" the risk of new enterprises. An enterprise is created by an entrepreneur.
