EuResist

EuResist (/juːˈrɪzɪst/) is an integrated project funded by the European Commission under the Sixth Framework Programme for research and technological development. The project aims to improve the clinical management of HIV drug resistance and treatment optimization.

Etymology

The term "EuResist" is a combination of "EU", an abbreviation for the European Union, and "Resist", referring to the resistance against HIV.

Overview

EuResist is a network system that predicts the effectiveness of anti-HIV drugs based on the genetic makeup of the virus. It uses a database of HIV sequences and treatment histories from more than 33,000 patients in Europe. The system uses machine learning algorithms to predict the response to treatment based on the genetic sequence of the virus.
