Summary

Description
English: The tiny flowers of the Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens) being visited by a happy Honey Bee (Apis mellifera) at Sweeybay Natural Area, Palm Beach County, Florida. Bees and many other insects love these sweet little blossoms! The smell of large numbers of Saw Palmetto blooming is sublime and is one of my strongest childhood memories.

The bees also love the fruit that result from their pollination work and are attracted to the oils that seep from the surface, as you can see in this video from last year: vimeo.com/15207027

(Those lucky bees were included in Imogen Heap's "Love The Earth Film" in Royal Albert Hall last year)
