Fondaparinux sodium - (pronounced) (fon-duh-PAYR-ih-nux SOH-dee-um) A drug used to prevent blood clots from forming in the blood vessels in the leg. It is being studied to prevent blood clots in some cancer patients, including women having surgery for reproductive tract cancer. It's kind of an anticoagulant. Also called Arixtra
