funduscopy - (pronounced) (fun-DUS-koh-pee) An exam that uses a magnifying glass and light to examine the back of the eye (the back of the eye, including the retina and optic nerve). . The pupils can be dilated (enlarged) with medicated eye drops to allow the doctor to see through the pupil to the back of the eye. Fundoscopy can be used to look for eye problems such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, eye cancer, optic nerve problems, or eye injuries. Also called fundoscopy and ophthalmoscopy
