Health research (pronunciation: /hɛlθ rɪˈsɜːrtʃ/) is a broad field that involves the study of various aspects of health, including biological, behavioral, and social sciences.

The term "health research" is derived from the Old English "hǣlth", which means 'wholeness, a being whole, sound or well,' and the Middle French "recherche", which means 'to search closely.'
