Healthy People (pronounced: /ˈhɛlθi ˈpiːpəl/) is a term used to describe individuals who are in good physical and mental health. The term is often used in the context of public health and wellness initiatives.

Etymology

The term "Healthy People" is a combination of the English words "healthy" (from the Old English hǣlth, meaning "wholeness, a being whole, sound or well") and "people" (from the Old English pēople, meaning "humans, persons in general").

Definition

Healthy People are individuals who have achieved a state of health where they are free from illness, injury, and mental distress. This state of health allows them to fully engage in life activities, enjoy a high quality of life, and have a long life expectancy.
