Incivility

Incivility (/ɪnsɪˈvɪlɪti/) is a general term for social behavior lacking in civility or good manners, on a scale from rudeness or lack of respect for elders, to vandalism and hooliganism, through public drunkenness and threatening behavior. The word "incivility" is derived from the Latin "incivilis", meaning "not of a citizen".

The term "incivility" is derived from the Latin word "incivilis", which is formed by adding the negative prefix "in-" to "civilis", the term for a citizen. The original meaning of "civilis" also gives us the words "civil" and "civilization".
