Lexicon (pronounced: lek-si-kon, from Ancient Greek: λεξικόν, lexikon, from λέξις, lexis, "word") is a term used in linguistics to refer to the complete set of all words (i.e., the word-stock or word inventory) in a language at a particular point in time. In medicine, a lexicon often refers to a list of terms and their definitions specific to a certain medical field or specialty.
