Benzodiazepines (pronunciation: /ˌbɛnzoʊdaɪˈæzɪpiːn/), often abbreviated as BZDs, are a class of psychoactive drugs. The term "benzodiazepine" is derived from the chemical structure of the compound, which includes a benzene ring (benzo-) fused to a seven-membered diazepine ring (-diazepine).

Clonazepam

Clonazepam (pronunciation: /klɒnˈæzɪpæm/), sold under the brand Klonopin among others, is a medication used to prevent and treat seizures, panic disorder, and the movement disorder known as akathisia. It is a tranquilizer of the benzodiazepine class.
