Marketing

Marketing (/ˈmɑːrkɪtɪŋ/) is the process of promoting, selling, and distributing a product or service. It involves understanding the needs and wants of the target audience, creating a product or service that meets those needs, and communicating the benefits of the product or service to the target audience.

Etymology

The term "marketing" comes from the Old French word marchiet which means "trade, marketplace". It was first used in English in the late 14th century to refer to the process of buying and selling goods or services.
