A Mask (/mɑːsk/; from the French masque, which is derived from the Italian maschera, or the Spanish máscara) is a covering used to protect or disguise the face.

History

The use of masks dates back to prehistoric times and has been a part of human culture and tradition across the globe. They have been used for a variety of purposes, from religious rituals to theatrical performances, and more recently, for medical and safety reasons.

Medical Masks

A Medical Mask (also known as a surgical mask or procedure mask) is a type of protective mask used in the medical field to prevent the spread of infections. They are designed to protect the wearer from inhaling airborne bacteria or virus particles and are less effective than respirators, such as N95 or FFP masks, which provide better protection due to their material, shape and tight seal.
