This can cause the meninges to become inflamed, causing CSF and pressure to build up in the brain. Neoplastic meningitis can occur with many types of cancer, but it most commonly occurs in people with breast cancer, lung cancer, or melanoma. Also called carcinomatous meningitis, leptomeningeal carcinoma, leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, leptomeningeal metastases, meningeal carcinomatosis and meningeal metastases
