Nivestym - (pronounced) (NY-ves-tim) medicine that contains the active substance filgrastim and is used to treat neutropenia (lower than normal white blood cell count), to prevent infections and to prepare the blood for certain types of blood cells to be drawn. Nivestym is used in patients with certain types of cancer and neutropenia caused by some types of chemotherapy and in patients with severe chronic neutropenia that is not caused by cancer treatment. It is also used before an autologous stem cell transplant. Nivestym helps the bone marrow to produce more white blood cells. It's a kind of colony stimulating factor
