Short definitionoprelvekin - (pronounced) (oh-PREL-veh-KIN) drug used to increase the number of blood cells, particularly platelets, in some cancer patients who are receiving chemotherapy. Oprelvekin is a laboratory-made form of interleukin-11 (a cytokine normally made by supporting cells in the bone marrow).
