Penile agenesis (pronunciation: /pɛˈnaɪl əˈdʒɛnɪsɪs/), also known as aphallia, is a rare congenital condition where a male is born without a penis. The term is derived from the Latin agenesis meaning 'without formation' and penile referring to the penis.

Definition

Penile agenesis is a rare birth defect in which a male baby is born without a penis. This condition is a type of genital malformation and is usually associated with other anomalies such as cloacal exstrophy or bladder exstrophy.
