Perflubron (pronunciation: per-FLU-bron), also known as perfluorooctyl bromide or PFOB, is a perfluorocarbon (PFC) that is used in the medical field for various applications.

Etymology

The term "Perflubron" is derived from the chemical composition of the compound. "Perfluoro-" refers to the fact that all hydrogen atoms in the compound have been replaced by fluorine atoms, and "-bromide" indicates the presence of a bromine atom.

Medical Uses
