Planned Parenthood (/plænd pærənθʊd/), also known as Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), is a nonprofit organization that provides reproductive health care in the United States and globally.

The term "Planned Parenthood" is derived from the organization's focus on the planning and management of parenthood and reproductive health. The organization was originally named the "American Birth Control League" when it was founded by Margaret Sanger in 1921. It was renamed "Planned Parenthood Federation of America" in 1942.
