Practice of Medicine

Practice of Medicine (pronunciation: /ˈpræk.tɪs əv ˈmɛd.ɪ.sɪn/) refers to the methods and activities that physicians and other healthcare professionals employ to provide healthcare services to patients. The term is derived from the Latin "practica" meaning "to perform" and the Greek "medicina" meaning "healing art".

Etymology

The term "Practice of Medicine" is a combination of two words. "Practice" comes from the Old French practiser, which means "to practice", and from Medieval Latin practizare, meaning "to perform, carry out". "Medicine", on the other hand, comes from the Latin medicina, from mederi which means "to heal, cure".
