Presentation (medicine)

Presentation (/prɛzɛnteɪʃən/), in the field of medicine, refers to the manner in which a particular disease or health condition is manifested, or the set of symptoms and signs associated with the disease at the time of diagnosis.

Etymology

The term "presentation" is derived from the Latin word 'praesentatio', which means 'to show'. In the medical context, it is used to describe the way a disease 'shows' itself in a patient.
