Rescue Squad

A Rescue Squad (pronunciation: /ˈreskyo͞o skwäd/) is a specialized group of emergency medical services or fire department personnel who are trained to respond to specific types of emergencies. These emergencies can include, but are not limited to, medical emergencies, search and rescue operations, hazardous materials incidents, and technical rescues.

Etymology

The term "Rescue Squad" is derived from the English words "rescue", meaning to save from a dangerous or distressing situation, and "squad", meaning a small group of people having a particular task.
