It is also used in patients who cannot be treated with surgery or radiation therapy. Sonidegib phosphate is also being studied to treat other types of cancer. Sonidegib phosphate blocks a type of protein involved in tissue growth and repair and can block the growth of cancer cells. It's kind of an antagonist of the Hedgehog signaling pathway.
