Sulfafurazole (pronounced sul-fa-fur-a-zole), also known as sulfisoxazole, is an antibacterial medication used to treat various types of bacterial infections. It belongs to the class of sulfonamide antibiotics.

Etymology

The term "Sulfafurazole" is derived from its chemical structure, which includes a sulfonamide group (sulfa-) and a furazolidone group (-furazole).

Usage
