Survival (/səˈvaɪvəl/) is a term that refers to the act of living or existing, especially under challenging or adverse conditions. The term is derived from the Latin word 'supervivere', which means 'to live beyond'.

Survival is often associated with extreme situations, such as natural disasters, war, or life-threatening illnesses. It can also refer to the ability of an organism to continue living or existing despite an unfavorable environment or circumstances. Survival skills, such as first aid, navigation, and shelter building, are often taught in survival training programs.
