Torisel - (pronounced) (TOR-ih-sel) A drug used to treat advanced renal cell carcinoma (a type of kidney cancer). It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Torisel blocks a protein called mTOR, which helps control cell division. Blocking this protein can help prevent cancer cells from growing. Torisel is a type of kinase inhibitor. Also called CCI-779 and temsirolimus
