Veregen (pronounced: vuh-REE-jen) is a topical ointment used in the treatment of external genital and perianal warts caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

Etymology

The name "Veregen" is a portmanteau of the words "verruca" (Latin for wart) and "genital".

Usage

Veregen is applied directly to the affected area and works by stimulating the body's immune response against the virus. It is typically used in conjunction with other treatments for HPV, such as cryotherapy or laser therapy.

Side Effects
