Acquired spider nevus

Acquired spider nevus - a non congenital, benign vascular lesion with a central punctum (arteriole) that is surrounded by thin walled capillaries in a radial pattern. It occurs as the result of the dilatation of pre existing vessels and is most often an incidental finding. The lesion may also be found in association with hypermetabolic states or chronic disease.
