Job Interview
A Job Interview (/ˈdʒɒb ˈɪntərˌvjuː/) is a formal conversation between a job applicant and a representative of an employer which is conducted to assess whether the applicant should be hired. Interviews are one of the most popularly used devices for employee selection.
Etymology
The term "interview" originates from the French "entrevoir", meaning "to see each other" or "to see in between". The term "job" is derived from the Old English "gobba" meaning "piece of work".
Process
A typical Job Interview is one-on-one between a candidate for employment and an employer. The interviewer will ask questions about the applicant's experience and skills, work history, availability, and the qualifications the company is seeking in the optimal candidate for the job.
