New Hampshire

New Hampshire (pronunciation: /nuː ˈhæmpʃər/) is a state in the New England region of the United States. It is bordered by Massachusetts to the south, Vermont to the west, Maine and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Canadian province of Quebec to the north.

Etymology

The name "New Hampshire" comes from the county of Hampshire in southern England, which was chosen by Captain John Mason who was granted the land by the Council for New England in 1629.
