Sodium borocaptate - (pronounced) (SOH-dee-um BORE-oh-KAP-tayt) A substance used in a radiation therapy called boron neutron capture therapy. Sodium borocaptate is injected into a vein and accumulates in tumor cells. The patient is then given radiation treatment using atomic particles called neutrons. The neutrons react with the boron in sodium borocaptate, creating radioactive particles that kill the tumor cells without harming normal cells. Also called BSH
