Data Integrity (pronounced: /ˈdeɪtə ɪnˈtɛɡrɪti/) is a fundamental aspect of information security that ensures the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data during its entire lifecycle.

The term "Data Integrity" is derived from the Latin words "datum" meaning "something given" and "integritas" meaning "wholeness" or "completeness".
